BDO Latvia first introduced Global Portal in 2018. Initially, it was an optional tool, and its use was limited within our team. However, everything changed when Sīmanis Broks took over as CTO and implemented the Exchange Next Gen upgrade—an advanced version that made the platform even more user-friendly and efficient.

Thanks to these improvements, Global Portal has become a mandatory tool in our daily operations. Today, over 60 of our professionals actively use it to:

  • The most common client issues arise during the onboarding process, mainly due to unread emails, missed activation links, or invitations being blocked by spam filters.
  • To improve the process, we have implemented automatic email forwarding solutions, ensuring that all users receive their login credentials promptly.

Sīmanis Broks: Experience and Practical Tips on Using Global Portal

Our Chief Technology Officer, Sīmanis Broks, has played a pivotal role in integrating Global Portal at BDO Latvia. He believes that hands-on experience and practical testing are the best ways to fully understand and leverage the platform’s potential.

  • A useful tip: After attending Advanced User Training, Sīmanis implemented a simple but effective change—adding his email to the BCC field in client invitation emails. This allows him to quickly resend invitations to users who might not have received them, preventing unnecessary delays.

He also highlights that short demo videos and practical examples are far more effective than long instructional documents for learning how to use Global Portal efficiently.
