BDO Latvia joins the Diversity Charter movement
In an informative and solemn event, on November 23, the head of our personnel department, Eva Pļāvēja, signed the charter, thus expressing our position to fulfill the 15 values of the charter. The Diversity Charter is a voluntary agreement aimed at promoting respectful treatment and inclusion of different groups in society.
Accepting diversity and becoming an inclusive and supportive employer is a strategic necessity for our company, an important prerequisite for us as a company to work towards sustainable development. Recognizing the individuality and diversity of each employee, we position ourselves in the Latvian labor market as a modern, inclusive and supportive company.
"Why is diversity important to us? It promotes openness, loyalty and efficiency among employees, it stimulates creativity and innovation, it reflects our ability to provide each customer with an individual, tailor-made solution, it helps us adapt products and services to meet the diverse demands of customers and anticipate market trends," says Eva Plūjeja, head of the HR department.
Acceptance and inclusion of diversity has been proven to increase employee satisfaction, creating a positive work culture that will give us greater opportunities to attract top talent.
By signing the Latvian Diversity Charter, we have publicly made a promise to promote the creation of an inclusive culture in BDO Latvia, to ensure the education of our employees on diversity issues and to organize initiatives that would promote understanding of these - for each of us and for society as a whole - such important issues.
More than 60 Latvian companies, state institutions, municipalities and non-governmental organizations have joined the Latvian Diversity Charter.
